Thanksgiving + "Black Friday"

Happy Thanksgiving, Germany, Happy Holidays!

It was awesome! (Thanksgiving, similar to "Erntedank", but on Thanksgiving the Americans celebrate Columbus's "discovery" of the american continent.
First we had to cook all that stuff:
Turkey, Stuffing, Pies, even more pies, my vanilla paradise pudding quark cream (Okay, it's Omi's recipe), Potatoes, (Hot,cold) apple Cider, vanilla ice cream I think I got it all, oh no we had some kind of bread I think it was similar to "Broetchen" just kinda sweet and little and bred.
We went to go over to "my cousin's" house for "dinner" about 2pm. We started eating, and after eating we were eating more and after that I played Lord of the Rings Risk with Mary (12) and Kevin (I lost, but it was my very first time, so...) and after this we ate even more (dessert). So much fun! And Anna made little turkeys with each name on it and Mary made some funny things, which looked like snowflakes. Turkey tastes good, kind of like chicken. Good stuff!
Stuffing is fun, it's basically just something what you can eat along with the turkey. We had three kinds of potatoes: mashed potatoes, mashed potatoes with something green and cheezy potatoes. Very good!

Today I got up at 4.30 am, because it's "Black Friday". Black Friday is a huge sale, everything is soooo cheap. That's where Americans buy christmas presents... Crazy! It's like this shopping in commercials, where everybody has a full cart and all of the shelves are empty.

Okay, I try to explain in chronological order.
1. Walmart
2. Target/Micheals
2.1 Panera
3. Kohl's
4. Dick's sport goods
5. Best Buy
6. everything I forgot
So, first of all, we shopped from 4:45 am to 12:30 am, I'm so tired (5:01 pm), but I couldn't go to sleep.

1. Walmart: I was tired, I couldn't even stand, and I walked in and was quite awake. I saw lines today, 30 meters long or longer. I didn't make photos, but I hope you have a big imagination.
I'm serious, it's like in those commercials, I mentioned. Everybody had a full cart, mostly mothers with toys more than 50% off. (You almost can't imagine how cheap, because the normal prices here are pretty cheap for Germans [I got Twilight with the movie cover for $4.79] It was just so cheap.) And you could do price matching. If you found an ad in another store's catalog and it's cheaper you will get it for this price in the other catalog, isn't that amazing? A few examples:
[1 buck = $1]
Sex and the City (one full season): 9 bucks (I didn't buy it, Jenn did)
Kind of Nintendo DS for grown-ups: 70 bucks with one game
Other movies: 3 bucks
I bought two pairs of cuddly socks and two pj pants. (will make photos and load them up sometime)
2. I didn't buy anything at Target, but Target was even more crowded than Walmart. But we took the Pharmacy check-out, a little shortcut ;) In Micheal's, I got 2 presents for Mama and Sabrina ;) I would love to write what, because I think I chose very cool presents, but I want to be it a surprise. ;) Sorry.
2.1.I went to Panera to have breakfast there, I had an egg souffle four cheese. And in French I had a bengal, kind of a dognut, but better ;)
3. We went to Kohl's twice (to different ones). Jenn (not my "mum", another friend, who went with us) bought a christmas tree for $58 (*). I got 2 longsleeves shirt, two cuddly socks, and a t-shirt and three christmas presents, but I won't tell you neither for whom nor what :P
They got socks for their husbands and toys (**)
4. At first, I wanna say, that that's probably the store where I'll buy my Lacrosse stuff (I need stick, gogle, mouthguard and special shoes). My Jenn bought Walkie-talkies, there, they can reach 30 miles (!), if the power go off again, it wouldn't be a problem, you can walkietalkie to your family, smart, huh? It was drama. Because there were a rebate, and she first had to pay for it (stand in a line for a couple minutes) and then go back into the store to get the rebate ;)
5. Extreme huge electronic store, no Papa, I didn't buy a hardware flashdrive yet, or whatever the name in english is ;) I really think about buying an ipod, but I don't like the new nano, but the classic looks good, but it's even more expensive.... hmm I dunno.
6. I can't think of any store.

(*) Most Americans have a plastic christmas tree, like my family, it was so weird to watch how Kev is building the christmas tree, I have pictures. And they like to put tons of ornaments on there and unreal lights. We decorated it today, after we were home.

(**) If you're an American kid you have a lots, lots of toys to play with. Holla! And you have a lot of technical stuff, how I mentioned.

Okay, that's it, I'm hungry coz it's dinner time.
Have a great day!
Julia
